How We Audit 30+ Websites While We Sleep

The problem with most website audits

A traditional SEO audit takes hours. Someone opens a spreadsheet, runs a few tools, copies numbers between tabs, writes up findings, and formats a report. For one site, that’s manageable. For 30 sites in a single market? That’s a week of work.

We wanted to be able to scan every business in a local market and know exactly where each one stands. Not a vague “your SEO needs work” assessment. A specific, graded report with prioritized action items. For every site. In one sitting.

So we built a system that does exactly that.

What it checks

Every audit runs through two complete scans.

Search visibility scan: The technical side of how your site shows up on Google.

  • Title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure
  • Page speed and load time
  • SSL certificate status
  • Mobile responsiveness
  • Structured data (does Google know your hours, address, and what you sell?)
  • Sitemap and robots.txt configuration
  • Image optimization and alt text
  • Internal linking structure
  • Canonical tags and redirect chains

Brand positioning scan: How your site communicates to the humans who actually visit it.

  • First impression and visual clarity
  • Messaging and tone of voice
  • Call-to-action presence and placement
  • Competitive differentiation
  • Content depth and freshness
  • Social proof and trust signals
  • Brand consistency (colors, fonts, imagery)

Each category gets a letter grade. The grades roll up into an overall score. A through F, just like school.

What comes out the other end

A complete branded report for each site. Not a spreadsheet. A real document that breaks down exactly what’s working, what’s not, and what to fix first.

When we audited Ithaca’s bar and restaurant scene, we scanned 13 websites and had graded reports ready to review the same night. The dispensary market was 6 sites. The Finger Lakes winery and brewery landscape was 25 sites across Seneca and Cayuga Lake.

Each report includes:

  • Overall letter grades for SEO and brand positioning
  • Category-by-category breakdown with specific findings
  • Competitive context (how they compare to others in their market)
  • Prioritized recommendations ordered by impact
  • Screenshots and evidence for every finding

Why this matters for your business

Most business owners have no idea where their website actually stands. They know it exists. They might know it looks “okay.” But they don’t know that their homepage title tag says “Home” instead of something a customer would search for, or that their site takes 8 seconds to load on mobile, or that Google doesn’t know their business hours because there’s no structured data.

A proper audit tells you the truth. Not opinions. Data.

And because our system can run these scans quickly, we can offer something most agencies can’t: a free, comprehensive audit for any business that wants one. No cost, no strings attached. We send you the report, you decide what to do with it.

The real advantage

Speed changes the game. When we can audit an entire local market in an afternoon, we see patterns that nobody else sees. We know which industries have the weakest web presence. We know which specific problems are most common. We know exactly where the opportunities are.

That’s how we can walk into a conversation with a business owner and say “here’s your grade, here’s how you compare to your competitors, and here’s the three things that would make the biggest difference.” Before they’ve spent a dollar.
